Who are these guys?
The Boise Aggies are local members of the Northern California running club the Asics Aggies. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for runners of all abilities to train together with a group of local runners. Our group includes a wide range of talent, from national class masters (40 age group), Olympic Trials hopefuls, triathletes, and recreational runners aspiring to go to the next level.
The training program covers the entire spectrum of running disciplines, from cross country to track to road racing. If interested, call or email for details.
The Asics Aggies also offer an Elite Athlete Development Program that offers funding and equipment based on performance standards. Click on the USATF logo on the right for details.
Currently, (June 2008) the emphasis is on outdoor track and road races. We meet three time a week on Monday at Boise High and Thursday at the Timberline High Track at 5:30 pm, and at the Downtown YMCA Saturdays at 7:00 am. Monday's are usually longer intervals and Thursday's are shorter faster workouts. Saturday is a group run of 7 to 10 miles. Each workout is generally specific to the distance or event that you are training for. There is an emphasis on developing effecient running technique through the use of drills and personal attention that focuses on your individual goals.
How much?
How about FREE! We don't want no stinking money. Most of us run because it's CHEAP! We are definitely low key and everyone is welcome.
